ES Windows Sliding & Patio Doors: The Hialeah Owner’s Guide

If you own an ES Windows sliding or patio door in Hialeah and a roller, track, or lock has failed, we stock and install replacement parts for most ES Windows series, typically for $165 to $540 installed depending on the part and door configuration. Most single-part swaps happen same-day or next-day, and we keep the most common ES Windows rollers, handles, and lock sets on our trucks. The way most Hialeah homeowners discover a problem is not dramatic – the door starts dragging, stops latching cleanly, or you notice a grinding sound when you slide it open after a heavy rain. By then, the part has usually been wearing down for months.

We’re Winslow Windows & Doors, an independent service provider in Hialeah. We’re not affiliated with ES Windows, but we are an authorized installer of their products, which means we know their hardware inside and out. Ed Winslow grew up in the Westland area of Hialeah, and he’s been working on these doors since before most of the current ES Windows lines were even sold in South Florida. My name’s on the truck and on the warranty – that’s not something I take lightly.

Which ES Windows Models This Applies To

ES Windows builds sliding and patio doors across several series lines, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The most common series we service in Hialeah are the ES Windows Premium Series (aluminum frame, impact-rated) and the Builder Series (standard aluminum, often installed in older condo buildings and single-family homes). The compatibility gotcha we see regularly: ES Windows changed roller housing dimensions between the 2015 and 2020 production runs on some Premium Series doors, so a roller that fits a 2013 door will not seat properly in a 2021 door even if the track width looks identical. You cannot eyeball this one. We match parts by measuring the old roller’s housing depth and wheel diameter, then cross-referencing the door’s serial label, which is usually stamped on the edge of the door panel near the top or bottom rail.

When it comes to OEM versus aftermarket, ES Windows OEM parts are machined to tighter tolerances and generally hold up better in Florida’s salt-air and humidity conditions. That said, we stock a few aftermarket equivalents that we’ve tested over multiple Hialeah storm seasons, and they perform fine for standard non-impact doors. For impact-rated ES Windows doors, we recommend OEM parts every time. The frame and track are engineered as a system, and a slightly off-spec roller can compromise the seal that keeps wind-driven rain out during a hurricane.

Signs Your ES Windows Sliding & Patio Doors Is Failing

  • Door drags or needs a hip-check to move. The roller bearings are flattening out or the wheels have worn into an oval. In Hialeah’s humidity, corrosion accelerates this, especially on ground-floor doors near sprinkler overspray.
  • Grinding or squealing when you slide the door. Grit and salt air work their way into the roller housing. If you hear it every time you open the door, the bearings are shot and the wheel is scoring your track.
  • Door won’t latch or lock without lifting the panel. The door has settled or the rollers have worn unevenly, putting the latch strike out of alignment. Forcing the lock each time wears the lock body faster and eventually strips the internal mechanism.
  • Visible gaps at the top or bottom of the door panel when closed. This usually means a roller has collapsed entirely or the adjustment screw threads have stripped. A gap lets in Hialeah’s afternoon rain, not to mention insects and humidity.
  • Water staining or soft spots on the interior floor near the track. This is the late-stage symptom. By the time you see staining, the door’s weatherstripping and possibly the track drain channels have been compromised, often because the door hasn’t been sliding square for a while.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Hialeah homeowners, most ES Windows sliding and patio door part replacements land between $165 and $540 installed. Here’s how that breaks down:

  • Roller replacement (pair): $165 to $295, depending on series and whether we’re using OEM or tested aftermarket rollers.
  • Handle and lock set: $145 to $260 for standard sets; keyed or multi-point lock sets run higher.
  • Track repair or replacement: $215 to $540. Track work is the most labor-intensive part of a sliding door repair, and the price depends on whether we can re-mill a worn track or need to pull and replace the section.
  • Weatherstripping and seal replacement: $95 to $180, often done alongside roller work since the door has to be pulled from the track anyway.

Every quote includes the part, the labor to install it, and cleanup. We give written line-item pricing before we start, so there’s no mystery on the invoice. And every door part we install is backed by the Done Right Promise – if it’s not done right, we come back and make it right. That’s not a warranty card you’ll lose in a drawer; that’s our standing word.

DIY or Call Us?

Sliding door rollers and lock hardware can look deceptively simple, and we will be straight with you: in Hialeah’s older concrete-block homes, the most common DIY mistake we see is a homeowner pulling an aluminum door panel out of the track and bending the frame corner or dropping the panel on a tile floor. The panel is heavy. On an ES Windows impact door, you’re talking about a panel that can weigh over 200 pounds depending on the glass package. The other thing that goes wrong is ordering a roller online based on a photo, then discovering the housing depth is off by three millimeters and the door sits crooked. What you can safely do yourself: wipe down the track, blow out debris with a leaf blower, and test the lock without forcing it. Anything beyond that – pulling the panel, swapping rollers, replacing a track – is work we recommend leaving to someone who does it weekly. Call (850) 998-3090 and we’ll give you a straight answer over the phone, including whether it’s something you can realistically handle with a screwdriver and some patience.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"We sat out a hurricane behind the windows Ed put in. The gusts threw a neighbour's trampoline down the street and the loudest thing in our house was the kettle. I rang him after to say thank you and he answered his own phone, same as always."

TThaddeus Okonkwo
★★★★★

"Ed measured every opening himself and walked me through the product approval paperwork before I signed anything. When the inspector came he found the notice of acceptance taped inside a window like it should be and passed us first visit."

RRosalind Beaumont
★★★★★

"The old aluminium sliders howled every afternoon storm and swelter came straight through the glass. The new impact sliders shut with a sound like a bank vault and the back rooms finally hold their temperature."

PPercival Whitcombe
★★★★★

"Someone tried the back slider while we were away. The glass crazed and held, the alarm never had to earn its keep, and the police report reads better than it might have. Ed came out the next morning to check the frame himself."

CCornelius Adeyemi
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."
